ComeSaveMe Privacy Policy
Effective date: 13 Oct 2025 This Privacy Policy explains how ComeSaveMe (“the App”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use its emergency features.
Who we are
- Developer/Controller: Marcel Marnix
- Contact email: Support@ComeSaveMe.Com
- Address (optional): Baarn, Utrecht, Netherlands
What data we collect
Collected only when you activate an emergency (SOS) or use related features.
- Location: precise GPS coordinates during an active emergency.
- Photos and videos: periodic images from front and rear cameras during an active emergency.
- Audio: 5‑second audio recordings captured during an active emergency.
- App identifiers: a randomly generated incident GUID; optional user ID if you configured one.
- Diagnostics (non-personal): crash and performance data to keep the App reliable.
The App does not use the Advertising ID.
How we collect data
- On‑device: When you trigger SOS, the App starts capturing location, photos, and short audio chunks. If offline, data is stored securely on the device and queued for upload. A GUID “progress ledger” keeps track of files.
- Server (when online): Files and metadata are sent over HTTPS to deliver updates to your chosen recipients and for synchronization.
Why we collect and use data
- Provide the core emergency functionality (live updates to your contacts).
- Preserve evidence to help protect your safety.
- Maintain reliability and troubleshoot technical issues.
Legal bases (where applicable)
- Your consent (you trigger SOS/enable permissions).
- Vital interests (helping you contact others in emergencies).
- Legitimate interests (fraud/abuse prevention, service reliability).
How we share data
- Your chosen contacts (e.g., via SMS/email) and, if configured, your emergency center/agency.
- Service providers strictly to deliver the App’s functions (e.g., hosting).
- Law enforcement or regulators if required by law.
We do not sell personal data.
Retention
- Evidence files (location, images, audio) are retained for 14 days, then deleted from the server.
- Local (on‑device) data queued while offline is removed once synchronized or after the retention period.
- Aggregated, non-identifiable diagnostics may be kept longer for reliability.
Security
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Access controls and least‑privilege practices on the server.
- Data minimization: we collect only what is necessary for SOS.
No system is perfectly secure; we continuously improve safeguards.
Your choices and rights
- Start/stop: You control when SOS is activated/deactivated.
- Permissions: You can grant/revoke permissions (Location, Camera, Microphone, Notifications).
- Access/Deletion: Contact us at Support@ComeSaveMe.Com to request access or deletion.
- Objections/complaints: You may contact your local data protection authority.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under the age required by local law). Do not use the App if you do not meet the minimum age requirements.
International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We apply safeguards consistent with applicable law for such transfers.
App permissions (what they do and why)
- Location: to send live coordinates during SOS.
- Camera: to capture photos during SOS.
- Microphone: to record short audio evidence during SOS.
- Foreground services: to keep SOS running while the screen is off.
- Notifications: to inform you about SOS status.
- Phone (optional): to help you place a call to an emergency number you initiate.
- SMS (optional): to send messages to your contacts if you configured SMS delivery. If you are not the default SMS app, we recommend using your device’s SMS app via user‑initiated intent instead of direct sending.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect improvements or legal requirements. We will update the “Effective date” and, where required, notify you of material changes.
